Fields of Interest and Expertise

Study of electrogenic transport of ion pumps by electrical tecnchiques and electrochromic fluorescent styryl dyes.

Interaction mechanism of drugs with membrane proteins.

Computer simulations of equilibrium and kinetics of ATPases enzymatic cycle.

Isolation of native ATPases (SERCA and Na,K-ATPase).

Biochemical characterization of ATPases.

 

Teaching

Lab-assistance for the degree courses Physical Chemistry and Bioectrochemistry (2002-2012).

Didactic experience within the academic courses of Physical Chemistry of Proteins and Bioelectrochemistry (2009-2012).

Awards

Post-doctoral fellowship by the Univ. of Florence as recognition of the research on membrane proteins and their functional properties (Mar 2007-Feb 2008).

FEBS fellowship for the attendance at the FEBS Forum of Young Scientists and at the 30th FEBS Congress (2005).

Prize awarded by the town council of Figline Valdarno for the best graduated student in Science (2002).
