July 1997: Degree in Biological Sciences, at the University of Siena, (110 cum laude/110) with a dissertation on the Protein Map of Human Amniotic Liquid.

1997-1998: training period in the laboratory of prof. V. Pallini, at the Department of Biochemistry and in the laboratory of prof. V. Sorrentino, at the Department of Medical Genetic.

1998-1999: grant from Consorzio per lo Sviluppo dei Sistemi a Grande Interfase (CSGI). Title: "Conformational and dynamical analysis of macromolecules in solution by NMR" Advisor: Prof. C. Rossi (University of Siena).

1999: PhD in Chemistry at the University of Siena; Title: Fermentative Metabolism in Saccharomices cerevisiae: Stress Effects and Mathematical Model, Advisor: Prof. C. Rossi (University of Siena).

2002-2006: Grant (Assegno di Ricerca) in Chemistry at the University of Siena. Title: In Vivo 13C-NMR Metabolic Processes analysis in eukariotic cells . Advisor: Prof. C. Rossi (University of Siena).

2004-2006: Honorary Fellow at NMRFAM Lab (University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA)) Advisor: Prof. JL Markley.
