July 1997: Degree in Biological Sciences, at the University of Siena, (110 cum laude/110) with a dissertation on the Protein Map of Human Amniotic Liquid.

1997-1998: training period in the laboratory of prof. V. Pallini, at the Department of Biochemistry and in the laboratory of prof. V. Sorrentino, at the Department of Medical Genetic.

1998-1999: grant from Consorzio per lo Sviluppo dei Sistemi a Grande Interfase (CSGI). Title: \\\\"Conformational and dynamical analysis of macromolecules in solution by NMR\\\\" Advisor: Prof. C. Rossi (University of Siena).
