Relation between microstructure and physical properties of polymers and polymeric composites. Design, fabrication and characterization of physical properties of natural fibes reinforced polymeric and cementitious systems Production of nanocomposites and microcomposites obtained through electrospinning technique as sustainable systems for tissue engineering and water remediation applications Application of Mechanochemistry to design advanced materials Design and production of novel active food packaging: analysis of physical properties and evaluation of shelf life.

Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Eng. Gianluca Viscusi graduated in Chemical Engineering in 2016 with full honors at Department of Industrial Engineering of University of Salerno. Since 2015, he is teaching assistant of Fundamentals of Chemistry. In 2016, he applied for Erasmus Traineeship program spending a 5 months research period in CSIC research center in Valencia. In the two-year period 2017-2018 he was process engineer in Narrando srl company. He took part in Research and Innovation Staff Exchange of Graphene 3D project spending research periods in Sichuan University (Chengdu, China) and Mackenzie Presbiterian University (San Paolo, Brazil). In 2021, he got his PhD, in Industrial Engineering, with excellent mark with a thesis entitles “Design and fabrication of advanced materials obtained from hemp fibers and sustainable polymers”. In July 2021 he passed the Engineering qualifying exam and in March 2022 he got a position as adjunct professor of Chemistry. He owns 1 patent and, up to now, he has published 38 scientific papers. Currently, he is reviewer of many high impact factor journals and member of Topical Advisory Panel of Gels journal (mdpi).
